Ubisoft announces Rocky Legends
Ubisoft announces the development of an MGM-licensed boxing game that will serve as a prequel to the Rocky movies.
Ubisoft has today announced the development of Rocky Legends for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The MGM-licensed boxing title, which is currently in development at Venom Games, will serve as a prequel to the Rocky movies, thus allowing players to explore the backstories of such characters as Rocky Balboa, Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, and Ivan Drago.
The Venom Games development team includes a number of individuals who were involved in the development of the original Rocky game. Rocky Legends will look to build on the success of that title with the introduction of a number of new features, including additional boxers and venues, improved visuals, and Xbox Live functionality.
"Ubisoft is extremely excited to partner with Metro Goldwyn Mayer for the next round of Rocky success," said Florence Alibert, EMEA marketing director for Ubisoft. "With the huge success of the first Rocky video game, I'm confident Rocky 2 will be a knockout for gamers."

"Rocky Legends will again showcase our diversified and successful approach in collaborating with strong partners for our video game business."
Rocky Legends is currently scheduled for release this fall. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
