E3 2002: NBA Inside Drive 2003 preshow report
Get the latest on Microsoft's second basketball effort for the Xbox.
The second game in Microsoft's Xbox basketball series will feature a number of improvements over last year's game. Player models will feature more than 1,000 animations, enhanced skin textures, individually modeled player heads, and varying body types. But perhaps the biggest addition featured in NBA Inside Drive 2003 is the dynasty mode where you can play up to 25 NBA seasons, win the championship, and even earn a spot in the Hall of Fame. You will also be able to make unbalanced trades, conduct a rookie draft, and even trade draft picks to build your team. Over the course of the season, player ratings will even go up and down depending on how the game is played. In addition, NBA Inside Drive 2003 will have a create-a-player mode, which lets you adjust ratings and physical characteristics. While it doesn't appear that the game will have full online support, Microsoft says that it will support downloadable content in the form of updated rosters.
