Konami dancing with the King

Japanese publisher announces deal that will see Dance Dance Revolution promoted via Burger King Kids Meals.

Last month, Burger King released three Xbox and Xbox 360 games--"Sneak King," "Big Bumpin'," and "Pocketbike Racer"--as part of a promotion to target the coveted youth market. Now the fast-food chain is going after gamers again, courtesy of a new deal with Japanese publisher Konami.

Starting today, Burger King Kids Meals will come bundled with one of eight toys based on the best-selling Konami franchise, Dance Dance Revolution. The toys include a minimusic mixer, an animated DDR Dancer action figure, a ministrobe light, and a miniature "Foot Moves" dance pad. The toys will be available through December 31 or while supplies last.

The promotion will also see DDR-branded Kids Meal bags and cups and a minisite on bk.com, and it's receiving support from a print and television marketing campaign. It is also tied to the recent releases of Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA for the PlayStation 2 and Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 4, as well as the forthcoming release of Dance Dance Revolution Universe for the Xbox 360 early next year.

LAWLz talk about *****ing yourself out. Hmm is BK doing that or Konami? I'd flip a coin to determine which one is the better *****. o_O
anyway, I think we can agree that our youth are in need of some dancing/exercise. Anything that gets kids up from their Whopper, which has 670 calories, 39 grams of fat, and 11 grams of saturated fat, is a good thing I believe. source: http://scottstein.powerblogs.com/obesity Link

    "K1LLSWITCH
I would like to thank the people who bought the 3 Burger King video games. Thank you for allowing this crap to be on next-gen. Now everyone is going to bank on cheap gaming also. I'm expecting Walmart or even Taco Bell to jump on the band wagon to promote their different products from their store or resturant. Thank you so much guys!"

Wow wow wow, what is wrong with budget titles? I bet a small company got made a buck out of this so I must support the crap burger king games. Lol, Burger king is helping the economy in small ways but good ways.

from the title of this report i thought they were gonna drop some major news about metal gear solid 4, konami dancing with the king i thought was a reference to the game being "king" for them right now and they were "dancing" with the idea of putting it on the 360 once and for all, curse thy trickery gamespot! curse thee!

In the UK Ofcom is banning commercials for foods high in salt, sugar and fat during children's programmes and on adult shows popular with under-16s. All to do with new rules in advertising. Im wondering if these games will not be playable during set times of the day and they will have a 16+ age limit!!!

I have been inspired to create a Smash Bros-style fighting game featuring all fast food mascots. The top tier will be The King, Ronald, Jack, and the Taco Bell Dog. Even with the ancillary characters of each burger-regime, it'd be a prett thin cast of characters, so minor mascots like Chuck E Cheese and even that little fleeing hot dog man (Wienerschnizel? I forget) will fill out the ranks. Paris Hilton might even agree to represent Carl's Jr. I'd throw in the WE LIKE THE MOON Spongemonkeys from Quiznos as an unlockable, even though they'd probably ask that that creepy talking baby be their official mascot.

Sure, it'd be a licensing nightmare to get all the company's lawyers to play nice, but imagine the alternative. Without this game to settle their scores, the beefs (haha, get it? Where's the beef?!) will spill out into the streets with crews in paper BK Krowns violently duking it out with disaffected youth in clown makeup and red wigs. Even far-to-cool-to-be-marketed-to guys like K1LLSWITCH will agree that it's better to keep these guys busy with games than to be caught in the middle of their gangwars (artist's rendition below)!
