4x4 EVO 2 update

Terminal Reality has released new information on and screenshots from 4x4 EVO 2 for the Microsoft Xbox. As reported previously, the game's single-player mode is being completely revamped for the sequel. More specifically, players can begin the single-player game either by choosing to race for one of the many factory racing teams or by becoming an explorer. Choosing to become an explorer thrusts the player into either mission- or time-based levels. Here players must complete such missions as trying to locate a downed plane in the Grand Canyon and discovering a lost Mayan city in a Central American jungle, while competing against other AI drivers, the terrain, and adverse weather conditions. If players choose to join a racing team, they must compete in a racing series, totaling 32 races, while upgrading their vehicle with the money earned.
The game will feature more than 100 licensed vehicles from such manufacturers as Dodge, Nissan, and GMC, among others. A variety of customization options will be available, including the ability to tweak the off-road suspension and to buy such accessories as brush guards, performance exhausts, and off-road racing tires. There are more than 90 performance parts that can be used to upgrade vehicles in the game. Graphical effects implemented in the game include real-time driver animation, advanced real-time lighting and truck shadows, and simulated weather and time of day. The trucks in 4x4 EVO 2 for the Xbox are composed of 5,000 polygons each.
Terminal Reality's 4x4 EVO 2 is currently slated as a launch game for the Microsoft Xbox.
