Sniper: Path of Vengeance update

Xicat Interactive releases some new information on its forthcoming first-person shooter for the PC and Xbox.

Xicat Interactive has today released some new information on Sniper, the first-person shooter coming to the PC and Xbox.

Sniper, which is being developed at Mirage Interactive using the LithTech Jupiter engine, was first 2814421announced for the PC back in September last year, but there's been little additional information on the game until now.

The story goes that players, in the role of a deadly hit man known only as "the sniper," will find themselves caught up in the middle of a crime war between underworld bosses and the lowly thugs that wander the streets. Feared by both sides, the sniper is framed, drugged, and imprisoned, and he must subsequently fight his way through 25 levels and countless enemies to locate the source of the war.

Enemies in the game will include the Mob, Chinese crime bosses, and crooked cops, so it's just as well that in addition to the requisite sniper rifle, players will have access to Sigs, hand grenades, and a number of other weapons. The game will also incorporate what Xicat refers to as "unique character-building" elements, the idea being that players can create their very own perfect killer as they progress through the game and its intriguing and twisting storyline.

We'll post more information on Sniper as it becomes available. In the meantime, for more information, why not check out our previous coverage of the PC version of the game.
