Midway Games has today announced that it's working on an action game inspired by the Cartoon Network's Justice League TV show for all current console platforms. The game will be the first to bring together the superheroes of the Justice League on a current-generation console, and it will allow players to control a number of DC Comics' most popular characters, including Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Martian Manhunter.

"We're excited to bring this hit animated television series to life and give gamers the chance to play as their favorite Justice League heroes on next-generation consoles," said Helene Sheeler, vice president of marketing, Midway.

Justice League is currently scheduled for release sometime next year. No gameplay details have been released at this time, but we'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
