Shippin' Out 3/27-3/31: New Kingdom Hearts, quartet for 360

Another busy week of big-name game releases includes Rumble Roses XX, NBA Ballers: Phenom, and a pair of Far Cry titles.

With immigration demonstrations popping up around the US and promised reforms on the way, fruit-on-fruit friction as the Beatles' Apple Records takes iPod manufacturer Apple to court, and a full work week until the NCAA's Final Four tip-off, it's a good time to find some diversions.

For instance, one could pass the days celebrating a banner week for creepy-people birthdays, as Kill Bill director Quentin Tarantino turns 43, Highlander and Mortal Kombat star Christopher Lambert turns 49, Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Ferrell celebrates his 47th, Oscar-winning True Crime voice actor Christopher Walken hits 63, and funky headhunter MC Hammer turns 44. Or maybe it would be more advisable to drop some coin on a new game.

There are plenty of new titles to choose from this week, with the PlayStation 2 Disney-Square Enix crossover Kingdom Hearts II leading the pack of anticipated releases, followed closely by a quartet of Xbox 360 titles. There's Konami's all-girl grappler Rumble Roses XX, Koei's budget-priced Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires (also on PS2), Far Cry Instincts Predator (not to be confused with the Xbox's Far Cry Instincts Evolution), and 2K Sports first next-gen tennis offering, Top Spin 2 (also on GBA and DS).

GameCube owners can expect Harvest Moon: Magical Melody to play on their systems. Over on the PC, Cinemaware is shipping out a trio of titles in Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators, Buccaneer's Bounty, and Neighbors From Hell: On Vacation, while the last few week's wealth of PSP offerings tapers off a little, with Untold Legends: The Warrior's Code being the biggest fish in that portable's pond this week.

    Why make it seem like kingdom hearts is coming out for the 360? That is a little deceptive in my opinion.

    Its funny how so many people (uncluding myself) thought KHII was going to the 360. If it were true, I would have been pissing and moaning about it for a week. The 360 isn't worthy enough to have a game like KHII in its library.

    And yes, KHII is a *little* childish, but it is a lot of fun. I know many people who play it and they're in their 20's and 30's. So what if its childish a bit? Its fun.

    KH2 is a game for young kids (easy..., easy...), and X360 target is not young kids, so it makes sense, I don't understand what's the fuss ???
    I don't have time to play every game I own (too busy with Burnout: Revenge and doing some more achievements @ PDZ), so this is good news.
    And people..., stop bashing the best machine arround, at least until any next-gen comes out, you all know which machine is the best so far, and it's not a metaphysical issue, is a mathematical one, lighten up.
    p.s: I can't have fun with Goffy anymore..., it'd make feel weirdo... .

    Anyone who truly appreciates gaming perfection has already been playing Oblivion and these other titles pale in comparison.

    Yeah also how is it everyone thinks GS is saying KH is coming to 360, it says "New Kingdom Hearts, Quartet for 360". Quartet meaning 3 as in 3 new games coming out for 360.

    Meh, Oblivion>Kingdom Hearts anyday so who cares. Theres way more game there to play than with a bunch of Disney charecters, so ill leave a game like that to the kiddies. Only thing I see that I might check out would be 360 Far Cry or the new Ballers game other than that nothing there on the list. Now back to my duties as an assassin for the Dark Brotherhood.
