Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay ships
VU Games' Xbox-exclusive shooter breaks into retail outlets nationwide.
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay has shipped to stores. Released exclusively for the Xbox, VU Games' action adventure game is rated "M" for Mature and retails for $49.99.
While released in near conjunction with the June 11 sci-fi adventure The Chronicles of Riddick, Escape From Butcher Bay is not a simple movie tie-in. Set before the events of Pitch Black, the predecessor to Chronicles, the game looks at how interplanetary criminal Richard B. Riddick escapes from one of the galaxy's highest-security prisons.
Gamers will play as Riddick, who is voiced in the game and portrayed in the films by Vin Diesel. Though his ultimate mission will be to break out of Butcher Bay, Riddick can also undertake a variety of open-ended side quests.
