It may be occasionally buggy, but this great movie tie-in is suitably gory and extremely fun!

User Rating: 8.5 | X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Uncaged Edition) PS3
Based on the movie, this game has a big differenece when compared - this game is not for kids. Its suitably violent, and therefore makes for a fun gaming experience. As you'd expect, with claws, comes plenty of gore. You'll be frequently slashing menacingly at helpless soldiers and robots, by using the many attacks your capable of. It surprisngly isn't that repetitive, even though there could be more attacks added.
Some cutscenes are splendidly done, and have amazing graphics, and fight scenes which are so over-the-top that your sitting there, and enjoying the animal of Wolverine carve his path to your next slaughter ground. Its needless to say that the gameplay is very good. What halts the game at times though, is its presentational issues with dead bodies, and occasional, and noticable, bugs in the environments. Not much of a distraction, but it is there.

If you've seen the movie, then the characters and story correspond with each as you'd expect, and if you haven't, then theres no big deal as you'll get to know sooner or later. Wolverine is a powerful character, and is a fun one to play as, along with his infrequent one-liners, which provide slight humour.

Not only does Wolverine heavily have its combat situations, but it also slows you down at various intervals with its puzzle elements. These are surprisingly quite good, as they're not harder enough to get you painfully stuck, but a decent challenge, especially some of the later ones in the game. Wolverine has 2 senses available for you to use. One is the normal graphics filter, and the other is feral sense - a vision to highlight interactable objects in the environment for a clue to as to where go next, and makes enemies much more distinguishable in smoke.

Wolverine is a highly fun action game, filled with lots of great movie-like segments, and bloody combat, and while the graphics are not at their possible best, they are decent enough for the length of your experience with the game.
