X-men next dimension is the fighting game featuring nothing but x men.
The ideas this game had were pretty interesting , but they just dont work well in the finished product.

You can be any of the 24 xmen on the roster , they all feature signiture moves from the comics/movies/cartoons . To me and most X men fans this sounded most appealing , but in the end result , the gameplay is so bad , the game could include a 100 fighter roster and it would still be a terrible game.

Looking on the back cover of this game you might get the impression that the graphics are pretty impressive , what the screenshots on the box dont reveal is the blocky and down right ugly fighters that you will see close up.
The animation too , can be ugly , as it can be choppy while doing some moves. the levels are well done , feature locations such as The Mansion ,an army camp , a Construction site and the Savage lands.

Sound isnt too good , as its soft , some punches/kicks dont make a noise and the dialouge before and after fights is all the same.

presentation is this game's best feature , with survival , Vs and practice modes , as well as a entertaining story mode witch full of motion-movies and you get to fight the key fights. this mode is as deep as you can get with a Fighting game story mode , but with the inclusion of 1 on 2 fights , its a little different then the norm. 24 x men are featured in the game with favourites such as Wolverine , Cyclops , Rouge and gambit , and the game also includes some secrets. Each fighter has 8 costumes ! And you can unlock the games in-movies and profiles of your x men. The multi-level..............levels are straight out of Dead or ALive , so you can send your opponent crashing through a wall or down a cliff into a new section of the level.

but its easy to forget the presentation when the gameplay is so shoddy.
with un responsive controls , ugly animations and un-balanced AI this game can get frustrating all too fast . there are plenty of moves for each character and with some devastating specials , when you fill up your metre , but the contols are awkard and movement is so poorly executed , we dont get the full experience of these powerful moves.

Overall Xmen : next dimmension had some realy good ideas , its just with weak graphics and poor controls , these ideas are so hard to enjoy and use to their full extent. If your a die hard x -men fan , your not going to find a better 3d X men fighter . To anyone else , you probly know by now ..........to stay clear.
