Though old-school, it's a great game to play even today.

i remember when I was little and being a big fan of Marvel and the X-Men, I looked for a game to do justice to this fine comic book series. X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse is still my favorite X-Men game ever made. As it offered a chance to take the team of the X-Men against villains like Apocalypse and Master Mold with his army of sentinels, X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse captures the essence of the comic book in the game. With it's hack and slash style of gameplay and unique mutant powers given specifically to the X-Men and their enemies, and X-Men and Marvel fan will be thrilled to play this instant classic.

Gameplay is solid for it's day and age and allows you to easily recognize the members of the X-Men and their specific human powers. CPU opponents offer a varied level of challenge but more than enough to challenge and entertain the gamer. It's fun and exciting as it follows a story plausible in the X-Men universe.

Graphics were still weak in its day and age yet excellent for its day and age as well. Each character is recognizable with awesome looking moves and abilities. The villains are well created and look great in the game as well. Levels give that mutant marvel feel and enhance the gameplay. The graphics are superb fot its time and are sure to please and entertain.

Sound follows the mutant X-Men feel and is recognizable as a Marvel product. Sound effects though weak to todays standards are excellent for its classic feel. To sum up the sound is to simply say, nothing is out of Marvel's X-Men context.

To sum up X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse, it is a superb game that even gamers today could enjoy and its replay value is always there. You can probably pick it up somewhere online for a pretty good price and it's worth so much more. Add this to your classic collection and you will surely not be disappointed. Fight to save the mutant race in this marvelous display of gamework!
