The 1st Smackdown became revolutionary as before all of the Wrestling games had just been made by Acclaim, who concentrated mostly on going up the ladder in a pre-set season, where it never changed and the system or the body where you need to go from Green to Yellow to Orange and then Red for you to actually win the match.

Unlike games before, most importantly WWF Warzone, SD had fans eager to play every minute. Big time matches such as Cages, were awesome to play and two on one matches made you work so hard to make the win. With Rock vs The Dudleyz my best ever handicap match, the match took me ages to win but after winning, it made it all worth while.
