The best wrestling game ever released on the PS1.

User Rating: 9.6 | WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role PS
WWF Smackdown 2: Know Your Role was the first wrestling game I owned for PS1. And from the day I got it I loved it as much as i love it today. Possibly the best wrestling game ever (much better than the overrated, No Mercy).

The Graphics
Don't look at a pic now and go "AHHHHHHHHHH". Try to think back to the year 2000 where these graphics were considered good. Hell, these graphics were great. It can be a bit hard to adjust to them in our age though.

The Roster
AWESOME! Now, if my memory serves me correctly there are over 60 characters in this game. All of the WWF's top stars, and a lot of there midcarders. From Steve Austin, The Rock, Mankind, Triple H, Chris Jericho to Mideon and Grandmaster Sexay,

The Season Mode
The best feature in this game is cleary the season mode. You have to play season to unlock guys like Steve Austin and others. Also, it is never ending! And the cool function where you skip matches on a card and health meters show up, a lot of people may find this weird and boring, but I enjoy it. Also the season mode had a lot to offer. There were a lot of twists and turns, and you got involved in feuds with special "unknown" characters, and when you defeated them, you unlocked parts for the CAW mode.

The CAW Mode
A great feature in this game is the CAW mode. You had 10 slots, which was pretty good at the time. There was a lot of options and clothing materials and styles to choose from. There were also original clothing menus, where you could choose actual wrestlers' clothing for your CAW, like Steve Austin's vest, or the Rock's tights.

The Match Types
The Smackdown series has always been known for having a lot of different match types. Hell in a Cell, Cage Match, Ladder Match, TLC Match, Submission Match, even a Casket Match! Most of these matches played good. The HIAC was weird, cause when you ran into the ropes you shot out of the cage busting off 1 wall of the cell. But other than that, HIAC was a fun match to play.

The AI
Compared to a lot of wrestling games, the AI in this game wasn't nearly as bad as the AI in games like Raw 1, or Smackdown vs Raw. The CPU played good in this game.

The CAPPV Mode
The CAPPV mode was a great attition to this game. To make your own match card, like what matches, how many matches, which wrestlers in which matches, what are the stipulations, etc. And after the card you find out the "ratings" of each match and then for the overall PPV. It was a good mode, but could still use some tweaking.

The Final Say
Well, most wresting fans have probably played this game before. But if you haven't, please get this game. It may be hard to find, but it'll only cost you $5-10. Smackdown 2 is the best wrestling game ever!
