A decent wrestling game for the Game Boy

User Rating: 7 | WWF King of the Ring GB
WWF King of the Ring is a professional wrestling video game based on the World Wrestling Federation (now World Wrestling Entertainment) for the NES and Game Boy. It is named after the King of the Ring Tournament in the WWF/E. There isn't a whole lot to the game but it is a good game for its time. There are 3 modes, One on One, Tag Team Match, and King of the Ring, since this is an old game this is understandable. The game features 3 difficulties which are Easy, Medium, and Hard. The game features 12 wrestlers that were in the WWF/E at the time. The wrestlers include Bret "Hit Man" Hart, "The Narcissist" Lex Luger, Shawn Michaels, Mr. Perfect, Razor Ramon, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Yokozuna, Hulk Hogan, You (a generic wrestler that the player can name and assign attributes for) and Undertaker and Bam Bam Bigelow (both are not in the Game Boy version). The controls are very simple to learn for a handheld with only a few buttons. The game may seem pretty tame by todays standards when it comes to wrestling games, but at the time I bet this game was praised for what it was, if you have a few dollars and you see this game at somewhere like Good Will (where I found my copy), the flea market, etc, I would recommend getting it just to have a small bit of fun to spare some time. WWF King of the Ring despite its limitations, is a very decent wrestling game the Game Boy has to offer.
