I bought the game today.....heres what i think.........The story mode was said to be weak and repetive........it certainly was..but the rest of the game was more than solid...first of all the graphic detail of the wrestlers were great......tattoos,faces,and especially body type was very accurate. The wrestlers entrances were incredible to watch. The controls was similar to that of n64's no mercy which are the most popular control setup for any wrestling game. The gameplay was solid.....there was a variety of moves to choose from and the match flowed well from move to move..... on wrestlemania 18 it was one move then they stopped....another move then the wrestler stop again........this was a more realistic pace (although not perfect) in terms of a real wwe match. The sound was pretty good (nothing to rave about though). The game's value is up there because the gameplay during the matches are awesome.... u can only play a story line so many times before realizing whats going to happen all the time, which is not a direct concern for long term use of the game. I also own smackdown 2 for ps2 so i am not biased on which game or system i choose. I will agree the smackdown story line and even the gameplay of the wrestling matches is very cool and wrestlemania's is not........wrestlemania (is in my opinion) a little better as far as moves and matches. Can't wait to see the new smackdown game.
