smackdown vs raw 2009 is an interesting game purley in the fact that it has a desinct good side and bad side, the hype of this game prior to its release was imence but it is sceptical that it lived up to to everything that the producers said it would be, for example they made a big deal about the work they put into the team aspect of the game, and it lives up to that hype to a sertain extent, the tag team finishers and the fact that you can chose what type of team you can be are cool because you can cheat alot more and you generally get the felling that your one team and not just the one person with another guy in your corner. then theres the roster, the roster has alot of variety it has the best from all three brands, you can also change the show any one superstar is contracted to and this year you have the ability to deligate who possessies a championchip belt without puting them in a match with the current champion. the match type in svr 2009 is exellent with a large variety of new match types plus all your old favs from previous years that have been updated, the match that had the most hype surrunding it is by far the newley introduced inferno match in which you have to fisically throw your opponent into the fire surrounding the ring in order to sucure victory, the fire in that type of match is created exellentley. the create a modes havent really changed since last year they are still prety straight foward and fun to use so you will not have any truble adapting, the only new feature to create a modes in the exellentley created create a finisher in which you can string together up to ten moves to create the ultimate finisher. one thing that really sucks about the game is the modified carrer mode in which you plainley chose any superstar and go on a boring rode to unlock more championchips. then theres the in game quality which is a bit arcade like and is arguyley worse than last year however the entrances and cut scene are absulotley astounding with graphics to die for and the quality you would expect from a ps3 or 360 game. the last thing i will tell you about the good things in the game is the one thing that makes up for all the games shortcomings and that thing is the brand new road to wrestlemania in which you can choose from one of seven superstars to go on a journey that is uniqe to the superstar and the game this mode really makes you feel that you are living the same life that the wwe superstars live. in all its a superb game but the question remains have they finally made a game that really stands out? the answer to that question is yes, this game is definately the best in the series and is a great game to celebrate the 10th annerversery of the smackdown vs raw series.
