A Great port including everything the console versions offer

User Rating: 8 | WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 PSP
Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 for the PSP, proves once more that a fully functioning Playstation 2 game can be ported to the handheld console.
This wrestling title has all the gadgets from the console versions, including a nifty create-a-finisher mode and the flushed out "Road to Wrestlemania" storylines.

Since I own the Xbox 360 version of the game, I am quite impressed about how much could fit onto a tiny UMD. The graphics might be a bit duller, but all the tattoos, facial hair and entrance attires are well represented. The game play is top notch, even with the missing analog stick. Some moves are a tad trickier to execute on the PSP such as climbing the turnbuckle, but other than that everything is true to the Smackdown vs Raw slow paced methodical formula.

There is a good roster of wwe superstars and divas, and some nice hidden unlockables to make sure you play through each and every Road To Wrestlemania storyline. The create-a-superstar mode is the only feature that takes a hit from the PSPs small disc space, there is not enough layers to fully customize a wrestler. You can barley add any logos onto the entire without reaching the limit and having to choose between an extra logo or a set of arm pads.

New to the PSP wrestling series is the Inferno match, and the match is just a gimmick. Inferno matches are quicker than normal exhibition matches, when in reality the WWE's Inferno matches last a fair while. Some more resistance from the CPU opponents would have been much appreciated even on the harder modes.

Yukes proves once again that the can port a great wrestling experience onto any console, the PSP version is a great companion to the console versions as well, proving to be excellent at honing your skills while on the road, or when someone is hogging your TV.
