It is a great game, but there is nothing special to make it a must buy for all types of gamers.

User Rating: 8.2 | WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 PSP
I have been a WWE fan for around a while now. However, I never had the oppurtunity to play a WWE game except a GBA one. This was mainly, because of the lack of PS2, where all the major WWE games seemed to be appearing on.

So, when I bought the SD vs Raw 2007, I had high hopes for it. After going through it for nearly 40 hours, I felt satisfied to a certain extent. Firstly, SD vs Raw 2007 is not meant for everyone. The plain reason is that the basic structure of the game might sound confusing and uninteresting if you are not a WWE fan. The match types might not be as appealing to the Non WWE fans as it might be to a fan.

There are many good factors in this game, the main is it's sheer length. You can spend hours creating your imaginary conflicts between superstars, and enjoy by putting them in match types like the basic single, tag, three tag, tornado tag and stuff.
If you're bored of such things, then there is the Steel cage and an immensely entertainment packed, Hell in a Cell.

Elimanation Chamber, Ladder matches, Buried Alive are a hell of a fun and will entertain any gamer who can understand it's interface properly.

The Season mode has gone under a change and has become more bigger than you could have imagined last year. There are now around 25 plus storylines, whose length varies from one PPV to two. The occurance of a storyline depends on whether or not you have a title belt, a contender ship or none. This gives you a huge array of possibilities, and you will have to spend so many hours (around 15 or so) playing through the Season mode storylines of all types. The superstar models are nicely detailed with good matching persona. Their voices along with those of the commentators are carried out really well. In the season mode, you will be informed about the storyline either by cutscenes occuring in the ring or in backstage, or through mails and messages.
There is even a WWE website which informs you of all the latest happenings in your current storyline. There are at times voice mails and sometimes there aren't.

The graphics is the real sector where SD vs Raw 2007 starts giving a sour taste. Though the character models are nice it is the ring and the crowd graphics that are awful. The ring banner which usually displays the Show or the PPV name is so blurry and at times even off the cloth, that you cannot help but hate it. The crowd is one of the best examples of the worst graphics ever created in the 21st Century.

All the crowd models are near similar, and they are like pieces of cardboard hung on the security barrier. They are hardly made of four pixels, so just imagine how awful they are. There are collision detection problems, too.

The loading times are the real pain in the head as they keep stretching on forever. They also seem to appear for every small thing especially in the Season mode to show minor backstage clips or even Later....

It might be frustrating but even the in-ring commentary has not been featured despite the voicing of the RAW and SmackDown commentators during cutscenes. Instead you have to listen to a mere dozen plus of soundtracks which get instantly repetitive and boring. If you turn the Music OFF then you will have to listen to the off the place cheers and shouts and boos of the crowd which always seem to happen sometime after they actually should.

The General Manager mode is decent enough to hold your attention for a season or so, but even after that it gets monotonous and repetitive. None of the commercials or the rivalry based storyline ever shown which is disappointing. There are literally no cutscenes except one where the GM of the Year award is given. The objective of the GM mode is to have more fan following than the opposite show by the end of the year. This is achieved by getting higher ratings. YOU CAN play the match but even the outcome seems to have no effect on the ratings.

At the end, you might feel that WWE SD vs Raw 2007 might be a game worth try, and it most definately is. However, you will have to prepare to face long loading times, techinical problems and stuff like that. iF YOU can get through that then SD vs Raw 2007 will offer hours of entertaing gameplay.
