The best game WWE have ever made. WWE Fan or not, this game will not dissapoint you in anyway!
GRAPHICS -
The graphics have definetly improved since Shut Your Mouth! Smoother graphics of the wrestlers, oh sorry, I meant superstars :P. The ring, the backstage is fine! The crowd look a bit too 'stick figure' though. I think they could do with a bit more detail. Brock seems to be 3 times the size of some of the audience!
SOUND -
This is why I didn't give it a 10. They removed commentary :S. I know, and they replaced it with DJ/Metal music. Fine for the main menu, but not for the action. In SvR 07+, the wrestlers speak in season mode. In this they dont, unfortunately. The only bummer to this game
GAMEPLAY -
This is where it gets fun! Some new features have com since Shut Your Mouth, like the grapple system, countering system and submission system.
To do a grapple move in the previous, you pressed circle and any direction. Now in HCTP, when you press circle and any direction, it will put your opponent in a 'intitial grapple' then you choose any direction to perform your move. During your grapples, you can punch and kick your opponent aswell!
The countering system has been changed aswell! In the previous game, you pressed square to counter moves. Now it's L2 to counter attacks, and R2 for grapples. R2, which used to be your opponent target switcher, is now R1. R1, which was your action button, has now been moved to square
At last, the a new submission feature. Instead of performing a submission for a few seconds. You used to do this over and over again, until the dude submitted. Now, when you perform a finisher, a bar with a arrow will appear at the top of your screen. You have to hit any button to make the arrow go left. If it goes all the way to the end, your opponent will tap out! If it goes all the way right, or runs out of time, your opponent will escape!
Season mode has gone down hill aswell. Instead of going on first person walkies, like in SYM, you are in your locker room. The season mode stories one of the best features of this game! You participate more in the season. You can ask for a transfer and title shot, to your GM. You can explore the place, talk to people. A fun system to play!
OVERALL -
The in-ring game experience is really fun! Funner with a friend though. Hell In A Cell, TLC, Hardcore, Ladder Matches are always a fans favourite with 2 player. The sound is the only down side of this game! Such a fun, addicting game to play!
