Kicking back to this one, I can only say: This is where Wrestling on console finally got it right.

User Rating: 9 | Exciting Pro Wrestling 5 (Limited Edition) PS2
First of all let me say, this game even just 5 years old feels, to me, like one of the old NES games that just made you a better human being by just having had to play it. The memories I have from this game is legendery to me.

On the the review.
I got this game the first day of release, got home, popped it in my PS2 and suddenly, 3-4 hours flew by just creating my first wrestler and setting up all of his moves. With that said, the create-a-wrestler feature is great and the create-a-move-list is superb. Most of the moves have great satisfying sound, maybe not all that realistic, but it's a game, so let there be cool sound effects!
There´s also a lot of moves to choose from, too many for one wrestler to handle, so the wrestler creator is once again a great feature, which also gives you the ability to create more competition for yourself as well, since you can add your wrestlers to the season mode.

The season mode is great the first time you play through, and also the second and third time, but probably after the fourth play through you've probably seen it all and are experiencing the same stories over and over again. But still, the season mode is great in my opinion. It's got plenty of fun small side stories and events. Just plain fun and entertaining.

But, like in most games, the multiplayer part is the part where the game gets really fun. Laying the smacketh down on your friends have never been this satisfying, or teaming up in a tag team match to beat the hell out of your opponents. Maybe a ladder match, table match, TLC match, Hardcore match or maybe you wanna go on a rampage and try out the Slobber Knocker? Slobber knocker is a one player type of match, where you try to beat as many wrestlers one after one, without recovering any "health", either vs a time limit or unlimited. Unlimited meaning, until you get your arse whopped out of exhaustion.

This game is just plain fun all around, with a few glitches and bugs. Most of the time where these glitches and bugs appear you just laugh, at least I do, cause most bugs in the game are just minor visual things that look stupid or just.. weird. xD

I highly recommend this game to anyone who hasn't already tried it out, to any wrestling fan and to people who had it, played it, sold it. Go get this game, it's an old dog that won't go down, even though it's offspring is starting to get going on their own, nothing about them so far is superior.

Once again, this game is one of the most memorable games for me, 5 years later i wouldn´t make a review otherwise I guess, but still. This game is enjoyable for almost anyone. But the main thing, when all is said and done, when the stars fall down, the moment the sun goes down you have to ask yourself: "Can I take this?" cause, Here comes the pain!
