While Day of Reckoning 2 isnt a big step up in the series, it still keeps the great gameplay among others from the first

Day of reckoning 2 is the follow up to the best wrestling game for the gamecube, which put yukes under alot of pressure to somehow make number 2 better. Well, in an attempt to relive that pressure, the guys at yuke's decided to change basically nothing from the first game, not wanting to try anything new and risk a sloppy mess like Wresltemania 21. Although DOR2 does have a new story mode, and new chracters, it still feels like a big step side ways, rather than forward. Gameplay DOR2 gameplay is the main thing in the game that undertook no change, execept the sumbmissions. Now, the game has you select from four holds(rest, taunt, submit, and drain) and if your opponent selects the same hold you chose, he reverses. Another new thing is the stamina meter. But its sad yuke's could not add any things like, elimination chamber, or casket match, as they just left the game really as the same thing. Graphics The graphics for the game are trully amazing, and one of the best graphic games the cube has to offer. The textures are great, and the facial expressions really help the game shine. Sound The sound really is the worst part of the game. The game features no voice overs for any superstars whatsoever, which really sucks, and the music in the fights, are alot more "garbage" guitar sounds than the good music(like zebrahead, and breaking bejamin)from last year, although you can still use them during ring entrances, and menus, it would be better to have them playing during matches. Value The story mode really isnt that much something to play over, although with alot of the games modes(which could have been more) and characters(which could have been more!) all you would have to do is get some freinds over, and you would have an great party, and can last for quite a while. Overall Although the game is so similar to the first game, it is still a faithful follow up. But(not to be offensive to gamecube, i have it) you couldnt help think that day of reckoning would have been better on another system, because of the gamecube's limited disk space, they could have fit alot more characters, match types, voice overs, and alot more. But any way you put it, DOR 2 is a great game, and a great addition to the gamecube collection, i would reccomend any wrestling fan to ge ot there and try it. Review written by Delano Campbell
