While Day of Reckoning 2 doesn't expand much on the Gameplay of the original, the changes made allow the game to shine.

Day of Reckoning 2 is one of those games that you have to be a fan of the series to enjoy. It's extremely quirky and has some very unique strong points (and weak points). An example of this is Story Mode which is pretty much... a story. Gameplay - 8 - Solid. It's just as good as the origninal but with a stamina meter and smaller wrestlers. The stamina meter is a cool idea, but reversing attacks takes a lot of stamina so you have to "sell" more often. The new submission system is excellent because it adds more stragegy to the game. One drawback is that they added "move interruptions" from the Wrestlemania games (x8). This allow for someone to kick both players in the middle of a move (even special) and completely stop it (with both palyers going to the ground). It also allows for one player, while falling (after being slammed, etc), to hit another and knock him down. Although this feature has potential, it's more buggy than it's worth (especailly in ladder matches) Graphics - 10 - They're beautifull, what more can I say. The Wrestlers are also much smaller than in DOR1 which adds new depth to ring work. Sound - 7 - Nothing much stands out here. At least it's not as bad as DOR1's actual tracks. The CAW theme sounds like something you'd hear while playing laser tag. Replay Value - 7 - Story Mode is a Story (no replay value there), and there are no new game modes added (no guest referee, no elimination chamber, no create a stable, no titles, no backstages, etc...). This combined with the strange AI (that tries to win over create a genuine wrestling simulation) makes the replay value kind of low. If you have some friends to play with, the various changes to the gameplay make it one of those games that you don't stop playing for hours (which is good). If you're playing by yourself however, there's not much replay value. Tilt - 9 - This game is fun to play and if you liked Day of Reckoning, it's totally worth the buy even though the stamina meter is buggy and the "intercept a move" thing is frustrating.
