Yes the review deck sums it all up. If you are a true WWE fan you would have more then likely played the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis/Mega Drive classic WWF Wrestlemania The Arcade game and remember the fast action and arcade game play. Well WWE All Stars builds on that tradition from years ago.
WWE All Stars blends the greats legends of the past with some of the greatest WWE superstars of today.
When I had first saw gameplay videos of it I was skeptical about this game.
But then when the demo landed and I actually got a chance to sit down and play it my opinion totally changed the gameplay is fast and the action is insane, which instantly reminded me of Wrestle-Mania the arcade game.
Sure the first couple of times you play you will get beat down by the computer and possibly lose a couple of matches, before you truly get the hang of it.
From the visual presentation to the commentary and to the character models it is truly like a little kids bedroom with all the wrestlers looking like action figures.
But this isn't a bad thing if you are not the kind of person that takes a game seriously.
WWE All Stars is meant to be taken as it is an over the top fantasy world where you can defy gravity and pull off moves that would seem impossible to do in real life.
Once I nailed the demo down I couldn't wait for the full game to come out.
When I got my hands on the full game it was very hard to tear myself away from it.
From the fantasy Warfare matches to the path of champions they tell a story and let you visit those dream matches we all have had in our minds at one point or another.
No more wondering what if Edge faced off against Ultimate Warrior or what would happen if Cm Punk and Stone Cold faced off we can make those matches a reality.
So if you truly consider yourself a WWE fan then Go out and grab WWE All Stars because you won't regret doing so.
But as I have written you will fail a few times before you start to have success so don't be discouraged because you don't like the game controls in your first half an hour of playing.
I gave this game a 9.0 instead of a higher rating as there is a few technical flaws with the xbox360 version of the game I have had it freezing for time to time during loading screens when Howard Finkel announces what arena we are in and I have had it freezing during matches.
But even those technical flaws have not hindered me from enjoying the game and it should not hinder you either.
But WWE All Stars isn't for everybody either so if you are going into stars looking for something similar to smackdown vs Raw then you have picked the wrong game but this isn't a simulator but an arcade fighter.
Which is what defines all stars and gives it it's own distinct appeal and breathes new life into an other wise boring genre. So if you are just looking for flat out fun and a game that has not got a hard learning curve then WWE All Stars is the game for you.
If You Smell what WWE All Stars is Cooking.
