Another nearly certain way is to try to play the matches Universe sets up...IF possible. I still change quite a few matches, but if it's possible to play a match w/ someone you want to have a storyline with, it usually is a good idea to play the matches it sets up.
Again, I don't know how you play, but I like to set up PPV matches. On my Universe right now, I have 3 great rivalries going on...and 2 of them basically were set up by Universe.
One is Orton v. Daniel Bryan. It started on as a regular match, and it was one of the funnest matches I've played...mainly b/c of some excellent things that happened in the match that don't happen all the time. Orton ended up winning the match. The next week,it booked a rematch between the 2. Another good one, where Bryan went over by a suprise cruzifix pin. So, then I had an idea to have them have a 2/3 falls match at the Bash at the Beach PPV. That was kind of a spurt of the moment idea, due to Universe.
It's also a fun idea to try not to let the guys you want to fight against each other in the PPV, to not let them face each other one on one until the PPV. This gives u an oppurtunity to be creative to try to lead up to your PPV matches. Example: If Punk/Ziggler are facing each other at the PPV, and Orton/Bryan also face each other at the PPV, maybe book a tag match Punk/Orton v. Ziggler/Bryan....or something like this.
I know this is more info than you aksed for, but hope it helps.
Best in the World!
