how exactly do I unlock John Laurinaitis?

Start Universe Mode. Go to Schedule. Highlight Tuesday. Press X to Add a show. Select Major. Just Acccept the default setup. Go to Wednesday. Press X to Add a show. Select Minor. Again, just Accept whatever the default setup is. Go to Sunday. Press X to Add a Pay-Per-View. Again, like with the shows, just Accept whatever the default setup is. After doing these three things, it'll unlock John Laurinaitis. Now you can go back and delete or edit the shows and PPV you made. Hope that helps. I believe you have to create a new arena. Then edit your Universe mode and replace an existing show with a new one that takes place in your created arena.

much simpler than that; create a new PPV (on the calender go onto a sunday and create a show) and create a major show (go on a normal day of the week and create show there). Nothing comes up to confirm you've unlocked him until you leave to the main menu though

The exact way you unlock "Mr. Excitement" John Laurinaitis is go to your schedule and on a day with nothing just CREATE a major show, then on another day CREATE a minor show and then go to Sunday and just CREATE a PPV. That'll unlock him and then you can simply delete the two shows and one PPV you made. Simple and easy.
