How can I get Event's to happen in Universe?

I seem to have problems getting Events in the universe mode. I have a custom character that does get run in's sneak attacks but the trailers showed someone about you getting to choose what your character does. I have yet to see that, and when a PPV happens, any story event I am working on... say... DDP vs Custom, ends after the PPV. Im getting really frustrated with this. Can someone please help me out here?

    If you make custom matches, then DONT. That will cause the storyline to end. If you are not doing that, take your character out of the roster and place him back in and just let universe mode make the matches and when he gets included it's possible it may start a story for him.
