This is definately a multiplayer game

User Rating: 7.7 | Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style (SuperLite 1500 Series) PS
This as you can tell by the title is a game based on Rappers the Wu-tang clan, it is a 3D beat em up where each character uses its own weapons and fighting styles. Upon starting it should be noted that the game follows the Wu-tang clan of ancient China with the American rappers substituted in their place and makes reference to the old Wu-tang culture eg. 36 chambers.

The music, with the lead characters being a group is obviously by the Wu-tang which will please fans.

The combat system being 3D allows you to dash about the arena to avoid attacks, characters command list varies with style some use simple direction and button combinations whereas others use more complicated moves which require a string of button presses and mid combo d-pad rolling or exact position to utilize walls. It may seem a bit unbalanced at first facing a sledgehammer with your fists but after a little play it proves more balanced with each style having its own strengths/weaknesses.

The story mode is very hard first time through and consists of trying to perform 36 challenges labeled as the 36 chambers during play-through. The story mode can get very tedious especially after a couple of play-throughs. Extra characters and odd little bonus's are unlocked however many characters are simply new skins for the existing set apart from the two bosses. There are also new fatalities and modes to be unlocked which are nice to begin with but the novelty quickly wears thin.

The multi player mode is where this game comes into its own, although it doesn't compare to newer 3D beat-em ups for the time it was one of the best available. It allows you to set handicaps and teams, computer opponents can be added and its 4-player. With 4 human players the game is highly addictive.
The only downside to unlocking characters lies here however with the bosses being ridiculously overpowered.

Button mashers will hate the game as it requires quick strategic movement and well timed moves, simply hammering the buttons gets you hammered. Overall the game is probably only worth it for people blessed with another 3 players available to battle with and certainly not worth getting if you want a one player game.
