I tried this game out as a demo, which in itself allows you to play full games. At first it looked a bit complicated, but the tutorial walks you through the gameplay and rules in a clear manner. It doesn't really take long to get to grips with the game, but that doesn't mean it will be a walkover.

It's essentially a strategy game manipulating the 5 Chinese elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. You can use these elements to "create" other elements which is shown in the creation cycle. There is also a destruction cycle which uses elements to destroy your opponent's tiles. Your opponent will be your opposite force, so if you choose Yang (which is white and the default), your opponent will be Yin (black).

You can also change the opponent's tiles to become your own. The game also provides bonus points for playing a more balanced game. So if you just destroy elements and don't create, or vice versa, you won't get bonus points.

There are also 4 styles of play: solitaire, Tiger, Snake and Dragon. The solitaire is quite different from the rest, but the Tiger, Snake and Dragon styles of gameplay are all basically the same game but with different rules.

The graphics aren't spectacular, but then they would only distract from game-play were that so as the game is aesthetically pleasing and well presented. The effects on the tiles are a nice touch and everything flows quite well. The music and sounds are relaxing and suit the style of the game.

Overall this game achieves what appears to be its intention which is to provide a very elegant and highly playable game whilst not becoming cluttered, showy or frustrating. I tried the demo and was so impressed that shortly after I bought the full version online. It is certainly worth a try on the demo.
