Who let the "Worms" out? Fortunately, Team 17 did!

A highly addictive turn-based strategy game with many innovative characteristics. When I first came across the original "Worms", I was instantly hooked. It was something new at that point, bearing a little resemblance to "Lemmings", but it was not quite that. It had unique mechanics and it needed a lot of practice on your behalf (during all that practice, the game grew on me even more). "Worms 2" was even better, but the game that brought revolution to the series was Armageddon. It kept all the good stuff from all its predecessors and made it even better.

Graphics in Armageddon are cute (despite the fact that it isn't the series' strong point), but the gameplay is really something. Controls make it easy for you, plus there are a lot of modes that guide you through an advanced level to make sure that you'll learn all your available attacks, so you eventually master the combat system. You can blast your enemy by using a bazooka, launch a homing missile, throw a regular or a cluster grenade, fire with a shotgun, perform a fire or a dragon punch, climb up with a rope, drill your way out of a place, dig up a tunnel using a blowtorch, hit someone with your baseball bat and many more.

Naturally, multiplayer mode is available. You can either play with your friends through the net, or locally. As far as the local option is concerned, you can create 2 teams of 8 worms each and end up with 15 friends in your house. Hope you have home insurance :P

God gives every bird his worm, but He does not throw it into the nest. So, feel free and claim it. It is a one of a kind experience, the kind that you don't wanna miss.
