FM2009 is the game for you!
Every year there are both subtle and significant improvements and additions to the basic, turn-based formula that has, essentially, stayed the same since Sports Interactive's first Championship Manager emerged back in 1994, but this one... WOW!
Of the eighty-or-so new additions, by far the most groundbreaking is the 3D match engine, without a doubt the finest new feature any FM game has ever possessed and unlike FM 2008, where many of the new features didn't feel as though they substantially impacted on the way you played or viewed the game, Football Manager 2009's additions do genuinely enrich your management experience.
The 3D match engine offers the player the ability to watch matches played out using full 3D rendering, from a variety of camera angles, rather than the traditional and simplistic 2D, top-down display of previous editions of FM. The traditional view has remained for owners of lower-end PCs, as well as for purists of the game
More seasoned players will be pleased to know that press conferences have been added this year, with media sessions before and after games, as well as at key stages of the season. Press conferences help provide an extra layer of immersion and realism.
While it was always going to be difficult to top the near-perfect representation of football management in the FM 2008 release, the new additions to FM 2009 have been well thought out and add a new level of depth to the game, a trully dignifying successor of FM 2008.
