I think DKs w/ Army, Hunters w/ Stampede, Mages w/ Mirror Image, and maybe Moonkin w/ Mirror Image via Symbiosis cuz you still require the 2nd body to enable raid group... are the only classes really suited to soloing that phase. And even then, it's still a shot in the dark to hope Essence aims Spirit Shock at targets other than you long enough for you to DPS through the phase.

Uh... no. Naj'entus was able to be brute-forced through sheer DPS in Cata, let alone at 90.
Reliquary of Souls has been soloed back in Cata too.

If you're a dk, AMS and AMZ block (at least they did pre Mists) her shock, letting you do enough dps with cds up. Combine that with army and raise and you're good to go. Its frustrating and slow, but doable.

It would be a crapshoot, but it's conceivable that a rogue might be able to pull it off with deadly throw once they have enough energy regen, using shuriken toss to build cp for the cheapest energy per cp cost.

My DK friend in LFR DS gear soloed it at 85.
It's doable.
