The continent of Pandaria goes to war with Brittany Vincent in this video review for World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria.
After having played the expansion for a while, I can easily say that this short review does not contain enough information about the game that can be of any use.
It's impossible for me to get back into this game anymore. I played the HELL out of vanilla. Pretty much an unhealthy amount of time playing vanilla.
Then BC came out and I lasted for a few months at a time, three separate times taking long breaks in between.
Then Wrath came out and I lasted about two or three months, never came back.
Then Cataclysm came out and I lasted about three months, mostly from leveling a whole bunch of characters for the new zones. No raiding at all, but some PvP was thrown in and I didn't like it because of a number of new abilities that changed the dynamics for the worst, I think. Only reason I lasted that long was because like I said, I wanted to see the new story.
Now MoP is out and I'm afraid it would just be a huge waste of $40. I'm not interested in the story at all. Well, I haven't been since Burning Crusade sent the lore spiraling downward, but I really don't care about Pandaria and this idiotic "war" that Blizzard has no idea how to handle properly within a game with two static factions.
Maybe the Warcraft players who started playing Warcraft with WoW or the later expansions will continue to enjoy it and the story that so many legions of fans think isn't completely ruined, but I just don't think I can ever get into WoW again.
I used to love world of warcraft. One of the best mmo's for me back in the day. But I don't like the new wow, I quite wow along time ago because I could see blizzard wanted to make things easy for everyone. I especially don't like the new talent tree's for MoP, I think it's a step back from the old system, because it's dumbed down and simplistic, because before you could create and make your character completly unique to other players of your own class, now everyone will pretty much have similar skills and abilitys, and not to mention all the changes and things they have removed from the game including the removal and rework of all the classes in the game order for the classes to be all simple one tracked specializations that even a 6 year old could play.
Don't take this comment as a Hate comment I don't hate the game, and if you going to rage on me simply by stating the obvious then go ahead and act like a spastic mongoloid. I just feel it was a lot better/challanging/indepth than it is now.
Mop - 5/10
Just my 2 cents
so is this the last expansion for wow before blizzard tries wow2 or are there anymore expansions to this mmo? i thought cataclysms was the last one
Worst thing about WoW is the writing. Jesus Christ, put a real writer in charge of the writing, Blizzard. It's like the franchise is being plotted by a pack of 13 year old dorks shouting, "ZOMG woodnt it B COOL if..."
In 2005 I felt like the graphics for WOW were the worst thing about the game, and now well... they are more than horrible.
It's been a LONG time since I played WoW... OMG, this looks like a PS2 game! LOL! I stopped playing when the first expansion came out. It was awesome up to level 80 though, all those years ago.
I made the mistake of buying this expansion. It took two hours to remind me why I don't play WoW. It's old and stale.
Well it's about time they reviewed this game. It's taken more than a freaking month. Well, thanks for the review GS!
A game everyone loves to hate, you know I've played for many years and I couldn't say any other game has ever held as much of my attention as WoW, even with the kid like awe I felt at playing GW2 which swiftly wore off once I hit level 80. The reason WoW is so popular is that it doesn't take a incredibly expensive computer to run it, it's accessible on Mac and PC so a ton of people can play it. Then those people meet people they actually like and then those friends keep playing. So at the end of the day no matter what is said it's a massive game that gives groups of people a fun way to play together no matter where they live.
I was in heavy world of warcraft fatigue by the time of the Burning Crusade. I had done quite a few server firsts as one of the two main priests of a guild, and back then if you were a healer you were in demand 24/7. But Blizzard does put out quality products, so if I wasn't sick of the game I might give it a look.
Realistic, worst expanzija wow, blizzard can pull just 2 wow this is going in the growing abyss and the abyss.
I quit WoW about 2 years ago, after a week-long taste of some of the new content, I wasn't very impressed. Gamespot's review and score (seems like a record low for a Blizzard title) basically confirm my suspicions. Conclusion: it's probably alright, just not worth the subscription + $40.
Just activated a 10 day trial account... Let's see if this expansion may fix all the s*** that cataclysm made to the game.
And also, GW2 is getting old fast. Wow held me for years. I can't say that about any other game around. Show some respect
The whole "wow sucks" things is getting so old. If you hate the game why are you watching the review anyway? Wow is a fun game and I always find myself coming back after playing other MMOs.
@Curzad I believe people's outright distaste born from I don't know what aimed at these established franchises is going to burn out here soon. Before it was halo, now it is CoD and WoW, I have seen Assassin's Creed hate, even mocking of Nintendo as a company that only has a bunch of old franchises. This stuff never ends, at this point I don't care about justification, its trolling and these are just established video games, not governmental plots to wipe out small studios. If thats what you want go play Steam games or support any of the numerous FtP games, that would pretty beneficial actually.
This is how I interpret the comments section:
YOUR OPINION IS DIFFERENT THAN MY OPINION SO YOUR DUMB!".
Oh, shut the fuck up, Go play SW or guild wars 2 or the mmo that you play and fuck off. I wonder how many of this assholes play religiously COD and then attack wow because "There's nothing new on it"
You betrayed your own creation... if you put brew master instead of monk it would all be different. But I guess you want to promote kung fu panda movie eh...
The reviewer seems very positive about this even though it 'only' got a 7.5. There really aren't many faults with mists. Pet battles I can understand, phasing - personally I like it but I know it's a very subjective issue in WoW. It's quite clear that it's targeted to the long time wow players, unlike cataclysm. So if you (still) like Wow you'll like this. I know many people who think this is the best expansion since burning crusade. If you're looking for something different than this isn't for you.
