Iv played WoW since it came out... I have been on and off playing it, Like a bad girlfriend that pisses me off but is crazy in bed! But I stoped playing it since I think 2009... And now I'm getting back into it :(

Agreed, HOSTEL_FEVER. Love and family on the top, money and fun on the bottom.

I played this solo off and on for two years and finally got a max level character. Now that I'm there the game pretty much forced me to play with others in PvP, dungeons, and raids. I can honestly say that this is the most abrasive, repugnant community of online gamers I have ever come across in 12 years of live gaming. Done forever.

I've never played WoW, is it any good? I have some friends who played it and loved it, and then there are the millions of people who play it. But still, I'm not sure.

@LinkRedfield89 hate to break it to you but that's what all mmos are which is why I never play one past the free month

not to be rude, but cataclysm sucks.... everything and almost anything has turned into a grind, and aside from the changed world and the interestingly fun new questing zones, everything is a grind that will take weeks upon weeks to get decent gear. Back in original WoW, it all depended on skill, now its all about whether you have awesome gear or not, if Blizzard is smart, they would really consider making other servers dedicated to the earlier expansions, including vanilla WoW. Cataclysm is just a way to make more little kids come for the game with the lacking amount of skill it takes.

This game is just same old same old.. So over it, finally cancelled my account, I was never hard core as I enjoy life and by life I mean REAL life. I honestly don't know anyone who has a job that can play wow and have a lot of fun in real life, this game is like crack for my friends that play it and I feel sorry for them.

@Vonhawkmoon I hear you. Alot of people in WoW pretty much don't have any lives, all they do is play WoW all day long, and they live and breath WoW. I used to be that way, but I got very depressed as well, I go out more now, and I even go to the gym now and lost 30 pounds. I'm convinced some of those guys who play wow 24/7 are undiagnosed mentally ill, or bi polar , and are unsocialized with the real world. Don't listen too all the children on here, your entitled to your opinion. I've been playing WoW on and off for 6 years. The game has really changed alot. Didn't care for WoTLK too much though. To easy to get epics, but thats just me. Cata was suppost to make things a little harder for heroics and raids. Which it did, but not by much. I still Prefer Vanilla WoW, and Burning Crusade, but so far I am actually really enjoying Cataclysm alot. Now I just need to find a guild that can run the old raids :D Cheers, -Trash

@jamccain Don't take this the wrong way because I don't mean offense by it. You should stop worrying about what other people think about video games. Everyone has their own taste in games. I enjoy WoW very much, but not everyone likes WoW, so what? Why do I care if other people don't like WoW? You really should get out a bit more. There is more to life then worrying about what other people think about video games. Believe me my friend in this day and age there are more things we should be worried about in the world then something so trivial as someones opinion on What games they like or don't like. Just a thought Cheers -Trash

This game does have some flaws like how cairne died when he has reincarnation in warcraft 3 O.o But other than that it's only $15 a month and I find the pvp only thing addicting.

I quit wow about 8 months ago because I have a real job, a real girl friend, and I'm not going to tell the guys at work "sorry can't go have a beer this evening have to get to the raid" which means I can never be in a quality guild, unlike when I played EQ where there were no raid caps and unless you were in a super uptight high end guild, showing up to the raid late was forgiveable. Anyway I had a particularly nasty experience with a certain player who charged through one of the new patch dungeons in WOTLK on heroic (don't remember the name of the dungeon, it's been 8 months) like a mad man and then chewed me out because we failed even though all he needed to do was make sure everyone was keeping up and not be a jerk - I'd already beat this dungeon in other groups a few times BTW. I imagine the fan boys will come back and tell me to quit whining and learn to play the game right or whatever, and I say to them I have a high stress job with real responsibilities and meaningful relationships in my life and I don't need the kind of nonsense fanboys dish out when things don't go well. I also suggest these fanboys pursue more meaningful things in their lives as well, thus giving them better priorities so they then not get so upset when things don't go well in a computer game Anyway I decided there are too many people in WoW that take the game far to seriously to make high end play enjoyable. So has the expansion changed the quality of people I have to interact with when I have a real life and so many top players do not, and thus take the game WAAAAY to seriously? I doubt it.

best gameplay ever made? i'm pretty sure mmos are played a lot for there plentiful amounts of content and they usually don't have the quality gameplay of single player games. MMOs are where i spend a lot of my time but i dont think clicking to cast a spell then clicking another icon to cast a different spell is the best gameplay ever made.

I'm sick of most of you talking trash about the game and its players, just because you have seen a comedy spoof and a news article once doesn't mean that all of the players are 40 year old fat virgins playing in their moms basement! WoW players are the same as any other games players, with families and friends and a life, the game is only as demanding as you want it to be and does not take a lot of your time to play it if you don't want it to. In fact I'm sure CoD and Halo players spend just as much time playing, its easier to identify your progress in WoW than in Halo or CoD simply because of your levels and items, where in shooters you seems the same as when you started even after 400 hours spend. WoW is the best online rpg created because of its great and rich lore and world, polished gameplay mechanics, smooth animations, lots of gameplay options and customization and great balance, so unless you have played it and have friends and family playing it don't assume anything and go back playing Halo which is much more shallow and anti social.

@nitrocole Actually socrates is right, and your the one thats wrong. Blizzard removed duel talent specialization in wow They also simplified the talent tree's and dumbed them down so players could only specialize in one tree also he is right about the removal of some factions they removed those because no one really needed them anymore.

From the original First Warcraft many years ago (which i personally played on my 486 PC) - current game goes throw many stages and the good ones. I think today it' s just too complicated and too imaginary already that you need enormous amount of your time - more specifically - years of your life - to play it (let's not forget that we've got only 90-60 or less years of our precious life). This game is for the players who don't have not just personal life inc. sex but also real friends, preferring virtual everything. I will pass this game and won't be even interested, also i don't really like that stupid fantasy gnome-elfs theme of it.

and the fighting has more of a action rpg flare to it making you click the mouse for every attack which I really like.I know that d&d cant touch wow in terms of content but seriously id rather fewer things to do then 1000000 bull crap boring quests which is what wow is full of

Im not sure if I wanna try this or not. I really had a hard time getting into wow.At first I was addicted like Im addicted to smack just playin, but after time it began to be the same old grind and got dull.I I made it to level 52 as a rouge, and decided after awhile that I just wasnt having fun. The quests are super lame and borring. I now have been playing D&D online for free and am having way more fun, the quests actually feel well like quests and not chores

I like wow, sure it looks pretty old (it is), but it has excellent art direction to counteract that. Sure there are much newer games out there (I play those as well). But no other MMO currently on the market approaches the level of polish and longevity that wow has in my eyes. And (to me) wow's world looks better and more realized than most other MMOs nowadays despite its age thanks to its fantastic art direction. This is definitely not a game for people who get bothered when an engine starts showing its age. And remember I'm talking about MMOs here not games in general.

This game is ancient and is past it's time in all aspects. Yes I know there are 12 million who still play, but there are also millions that quit the game because it got boring after playing it for 3 years give or take, which is great for any game. Blizzard, please release Diablo 3 soon. I'm ready for next gen ideas and not the same old crap WoW has to offer.

So, because there's a large portion of the expansion that people can experience without paying extra for it, it doesn't count? If I play a demo and enjoy it, does that make that particular part of the game void from my experience with it?
