In World Cup 98 you will find all 32 teams that participated on that event with real´players, full of different status and abilities. Besides these 32 you will also find 8 more teams from countries that didn't made it to the World Cup but are famous by their soccer like Sweden and Portugal.
You will also find all stadiums of the World Cup, and surprisingly they are all beautiful and different, the design is detailed. The game is basically divided in two different Modes. The first one is the World Cup itself, where you need to make pass all the other teams and be the world champion. In this mode up to 32 players can take part in the competition, each one controlling a different country. The other Mode is the Exhibition Match where you and your friends will have a great time enjoying this game's marvelous multiplayer mode. There is also one unlockable mode where you can play all of the most important finals from past world cups, and control famous teams from the past like Hungary and Netherlands.
The graphics of this game are marvelous, the players are completely 3-D and have some characteristics. Sound effects are great, during the game you can hear the crowd singing, screaming, booing and everything else, besides that there is also the narrator which brings some reality to the game.
Gameplay is really simple all you need to do is to press a single button to perform any kind of play you want to, the game alows you to be creative during the game.
All tactics options the game has are just wonderful, you can change your player positions and do anything you want to do when you are the head coach.
In a nutshell World Cup 98 is a true soccer classic, unfortunately many N64 players never had the opportunity to play this game. So, if you have never played it don't lose a chance.
