Wonder Boy in Monster Land is a side-scrolling platformer with mild RPG elements. You play as young boy named Tom Tom and start your quest basically naked. When you make progress in game, you can upgrade your equipment like sword, armor, shoes and shield. Getting these upgrades you need money which you will get by killing enemies and finding secret tresures. Game have 12 levels which is not much.

Graphics in this game is good, everything is a bit childish and colorfull. This was certainly one of the better looking Master System games from its era.

Music is good and sounds are ok (except that horrible beeping sound which you will get when Tom Tom is low on health).

Gameplay is good and controls are easy to learn.

Chalenge is tough. The time limit is pain in the ass. Everytime when time ends you lose energy. And trust me you don't get much time to explore around. Some parts in this game are easy and some REALLY hard. No continues, no saving, no passwords makes this game more challenging. When you die, it's game over. And F**K the last place and boss is IMPOSSIBLE whitout the proper equipments.

Overall this game makes me smile everytime when I pick up SMS controller and pop this game in. It's entertaining and easy to pick up.
