A very fun modernization of a classic and a fresh take on the WWII FPS genre

Let me start by saying that this game is HIGHLY underrated. I'm usually a perfectionist when it comes to games and I had lots of fun playing this game. One major flaw many reviewers had was that the story is shallow but that has the source material to blame more than anything. Still, Wolfenstein presents a long, fun single player campaign that is full of great action and detail. While technically not an open world game Wolfenstein is not linear in that there is an open (though limited) hub area of the city in which you are free to wander around and choose the order in which you complete missions to a certain degree. The environments are full of interactive objects such as chairs and crates that all react to gunfire and explosions and I must say it is quite satisfying to finish an intense firefight and see the ground littered with fully interactive items, broken crates, etc. The WWII setting delivers a nice jaunt into the realm of scifi which is a nice diversion from a market oversaturated with WWII FPS games. My one complaint in this area is that they didn't include enough scifi weapons but the two that were included are great fun to use, very well modeled, and are a good example of guns that should have been in the Resistance games after all the bragging. Wolfenstein is definitely a game worth buying for fans of scifi FPS games especially now that it is available at a very affordable price!
