GS News - No multiplayer in new Wolfenstein

Thanks god, maybe they do it RIGHT then.

For multiplayer we have tons of shooters. EVERY TIME they put multiplayer in a SP shooter they waste precious resources. Just look at Bioshock Infinite to remember how good a SP shooter can be.

I look forward to a quality single-player game.  Sometimes mutlitplayer can be good, and I look back fondly playing America's Army.  However, for the most part, multiplayer tends to be the same experience from one game to another.  In single-player mode, creativity can bring about truly new experieces and can prompt an intellectual as well as visceral response.  On top of that, if the writing is good, it can approach real literature.  If the upcoming Wolfenstein is creative and well-executed, I will be happy.  I also have love the Chronicles of Riddick and was surprised at the great quality found in at the time.  Let's hope this team, which made Cronicles will do as well or better than that game.

Do i think the world needs "another" Wolfenstein? Yes i do think it needs.

That 2009 release was Activision's idea of the game, which basically was just another CoD clone, not a real Wolfenstein.

And i like the fact that people look down on another fps, but as soon as it's CoD we're talking about, everybody's suddenly all open up for another fps.
What number in CoD again we're already now running in? 7, no, 13 ? I honestly don't even know.

I think this game will be good without MP, after all most games have both SP and MP when they release, but the SP in those games usually seems like an after-thought (Call of Duty series for example).  I'm looking forward to this game and a good SP experience is an added bonus.

Yes please focus more on the singleplayer.  Not every game benefits from Multiplayer but almost all do suffer if it gets tacked on the side.

I'm all for a great single player experience, but since RTCW was my favorite multiplayer shooter of all time, I was hoping this new title would return to the 'roots' of the franchise... I'm extremely disappointed :-(
