Wolfenstein 3D was originally released in 1992 by id software, it was one of the first FPS games ever released and helped popularize the genre, many people refer to the game as the "Father of FPS".

---Gameplay:---
Wolfenstein 3D does not have the standard FPS gameplay like most FPS games have today, you can't aim up or down, you can't crouch or take cover and it only has 3 weapons. Despite these flaws Wolfenstein 3D still manages to deliver even today, although it is starting to show it's age.

It does also have numerous incredibly frustrating and irritating sections, for example in some levels you have to find secret doors that look 100% exactly like regular walls so you may have to spend 30 minutes in one stage just walking up to hundreds of walls and spamming "X".

The game is also classified as a "maze" shooter, meaning that the entire game takes place indoors and many levels are quite literally mazes with nazis in them.

There's also very little variation in weapons, you've got a pistol, SMG and a minigun, the only difference in all of those weapons are ammo capacity and rate of fire, meaning that once you have the SMG the pistol is completely obsolete and so on.

---Story:---
To put it simply there is very little story in Wolfenstein 3D, it's basically you're some U.S. spy sent to Germany, equipped only with a pistol and 12 bullets, to kill Hitler.

---Graphics:---
The graphics are from 1992, it's 8-bit, the floor and ceiling are both just one seamless color and objects are not really 3d, just 2d sprites that turn depending on where you're looking at them from and the graphics have not been updated for the PS3 version at all, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. They do have a certain charm and nostalgia feeling to them.

---Bottom Line---
If you're looking for a cheap and fun way to kill a weekend then Wolfenstein 3D is a sure way to go
