Interesting story, terrible saving system.

Interesting turn-based Team RPG, but whomever came up with the "traveling and saving" system should be hanged! The plot has some unexpected twists and turns but saving/leveling requires you to return to the village then trek all the way back and fight the same lame enemies over and over again...Yes there are shortcuts to be discovered but it is still a huge waste of time and just kills the game's momentum. I love RPGs and I played them in many forms for 15 years now, and I'm not impressed by this one. So play it if you like continuous level grinding and item hunting, otherwise you may get bored pretty quickly.
That said, it is not all bad. The team building elements and coordination between your team members will increase the pool of attacks/defense moves, which are an absolute must if you want to survive as you progress. The diversity in character classes and advanced classes brings a fair amount of flexibility in the team build and spell/frighting abilities. Graphics are ok by 2001 standard and the 3D has enough polygons to allow nice monster features. I was not bothered by them, the issue came back to my beef with the gameplay as I stated above.
