...hmm, so blood and gore is the worst they can come up with to threaten players? I had a wizard in NWN that would have handled that situation, so I don't feel like I need to leave that old game for this one.
Played the first on on my first Apple ][. Played through to Wizardry 7 as I recall but missed 8 for some reason. All were great buy em/play em games. Now, it looks like it is going with that terrible "f2p" bs with an item shop. And with perma-death, it looks like pay to win could become a real issue. Probably will avoid this as I just don't want the hassle.
Sir-Tech's Wizardry series was a great gift to the CRPGs industry.
The culmination of the series with Wizardry 8 left me with a feeling of wanting more, a feeling that apparently won't be satiated, definitely not with a "Wizardry Online".
I also played the first game. Used to spend hours and hours. Was awesome back then. Have no idea how they could do it and not make it like all the others out there. Wish them the best of luck
I owned the original Wizardry game back in 1981. That series got me into computer gaming. It was great. I have high hopes for this probably because of nostalgia but i can see countless ways for them to screw it up and make it into a really bad facsimile of the original formula. The term "online" screams of "hey let's join the online bandwagon and dumb this down so it appeals to 6 year olds"! I sincerely hope i'm wrong. This series deserves better than that.
