My 8-year-old son and I played through all of the provided tracks, down-loadable tracks, and down-loadable cars available for the original Wipeout Pure for PSP. We'd both grown tired of the same tracks, and it was time for something new. The new issue fits the bill. All of the original cars are back, but if you have been playing with custom cars, you might miss those until they become available for this version of the game (they may be available now!). The weapons are different, especially the symbols for them, which requires a small learning curve. A few groovy tunes we liked from Pure have been replaced on the Pulse soundtrack. However, Pulse is more of the same good stuff for futuristic racing fans, with new in-air spins to boot. The game is not for everyone, but for those interested in a tech race scenario that handles well on WiFi-connected PSPs, it will travel well and save you and your family from some dreadful time otherwise sitting in the dentist's waiting room staring off into space.
