Wipeout 2048 Video Review (PlayStation Vita)

My first Wipeout game. I saw the 7.5 prior to buying. Not happy with GameSpot's score. It should be at least 8. This is a pathetic review.

Looking forward to the next Call Of Duty review clearly pointing out the "lack of innovation" and "it's what you've seen before" shortly followed by a 7.5 :D

One of the better games on the Vita alongside Rayman Origins, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom and Motorstorm: RC; 2048 easily has the best online out of any of the current Via games.

The only game I want for the Vita.

Online is airborne here so there is bound to be outstanding multiplayer possibly.

Great reveiw and 7.5 dont add up... I think it desrves maybe an 8.5. I personally wouldve given it a 9.0

I heard nothing but praise and than long loads and its really familiar.......so 7.5? Sounded like he was going to say AT LEAST an 8.5, was it just me surprised?

So this is the highest rated game on Vita so far?? Very interesting. Coolyfett may have too pick this game up.

I Still don't get why this game has got such a disappointing score. I played it in the GAME for a couple of hours, and I can see when there's complains with the loading time, Still I can't think of any other game I'd rather play. I don't care about the reviews, This game is pure gold. Hopefully, Just maybe there will be an update to solve the loading problem.

@StSk8ter29: Can't agree with you more. Not everybody has played every game in a certain series. I only ever played Wipeout Pure on the PSP for instance and that was a blast. Looks like this game will be my first purchase when the PSV is released in The Netherlands.

I don't want people to not play this game simply because it isn't very different from other Wipeout games. Wipeout is still a great game series no matter which one you encounter. I feel like redundancy should be a warning posted on reviews like this, but that it shouldn't be calculated in the final score.

This game surely deserves 8.5? I mean c'mon, there's never been a bad Wipeout. I can't help but feel Gamespot are so biased against the PS Vita because they suck at using the new interface and features. Jeez.

So let me get this straight...2 bad things and a bunch of positive things = a 7.5? Yet COD does both of those bad things(basically) and gets a 8.5 or higher everytime? Right.....

wipeout 2048 was patch and now the load times are around 20secs

He freaking sounds like a douche bag. ITS A HELD GAME if you want to get all the features and "excitement" go play the console version instead of complaining.

When I got my free Wipeout on PS3 I played a few groups of events then got bored of it. The 40 second load times put me off even more. I hope those load times aren't going to be commonplace in Vita games? It used to be annoying waiting for games to load on PSP.

@Malaphisis yeah and it seems like they are blaming the controls for how crappy they are playing when in fact they suck at the game I have no problems with either the analog stick or the motion controls the game actually plays better then the ps3 version

who steers with a joystick little kid? and this guy is horrible at this game. sure it takes awhile to get used to but this is like the 10th installment

Seems pretty decent. Im not dropping all that cash for a glorified gameboy. Consoles and PC's are the only way to game. We all know that.

I would buy a Vita and this game for the soundtrack and UI design alone. I love WipeOut. :D

This is my main reason for getting a Vita at launch. Already have a Jap model with the Wipeout demo which I've played over and over (the same track). The interface is incredible! The awesome, dark dubstep song used along with the clean white interface is something Sony could learn a thing or two if they decide to trash the terrible UI of the Vita. It's amazing the attention to detail the menu alone has - you can pinch to zoom, slide to move around and even touch the back to make the little blocks pop out towards you. The blocks also automatically pop to the beat of the song. This is truly a Wipeout fans' dream game, and is much more worthy of better rap from GS. Wipeout fans - let's not forget GS ranked Wipeout HD a measly 7, despite it pretty much being the pinnacle of the series and still one of the most impressive displays of the PS3's capabilities.

Dammit Im a massive Wipeout fan and am really annoyed this is on the Vita.. Plz port onto PS3!!! Never gonna buy a Vita

The review says basically "nothing new, same ole wipeout" and then proceeds to show totally redesigned ships, the new cross play mode (one of the few games to ever do this), new awesome looking touch screen interface for campaign and multplayer. Yep, same ole Wipeout...Gamespot does it again *rolls eyes* I do wish the loading times were faster though...

I find the visual aspect of the menu interface to be rather sexy.

Legit question regarding load times, which may need to be incorparated into all future reviews. Was this reviewed from a game card, or a download from the PSN store? It will be useful to know if there is a difference between load times since I would believe many users, myself included, will be looking to the PSN store for purchses over physical media.

I've played Wipeout since PSOne. This will be a game I get at launch. I like the lower register of GS scores now, 7.5 is a good score we need to free up the upper tiers of scores for those special few, not every passable game. Gamespots scores aren't low. Everyone elses are too high, we used to complain that GS was too easy and now that they have toughened up we complain they are too hard. Stick with it GS you're doing great. Love the track design here, it's nice to race through some new locals like streets and parks.

@shadowhunter0 I am aware, I didn't say it was bad, I was simply saying it was a reason for a lower score. Personally I think it's an awesome thing. but you have to admit it kinda sucks getting the same tracks at the same time.

the motion controls are actually scary-accurate the load times are a bit long to get into the race but once you're there it's no more it gives you a counter too it's not a big deal,but it can get a bit annoying and the game is allot of fun and the game plays better than ever and imo it is the best wipeout yet and from what I have played I give it a 9

@xolivierx wrong the screen size is perfect for a handheld and there is nothing wrong with it you are not like 8 feet away from it you are under a foot away and the game play is awesome I have actually played on the vita and wipeout 2048 have you

@chronocross668 You shouldn't take ANY review seriously. Think for yourself. By the way, a 7.5 is still a good score. Oh, and that article was him lambasting the Vita mostly for its interface, not for its games.

@RPG_Fan_I_Am the reason why it has the same tracks has the ps3 version so you can play against people on the ps3 and/or vita with the cross platform online but it also has anther online where it is just vita only also it does have new tracks

@Masenkoe what hate? all I heard was the games got recycled content from the PS3 version, and its mostly the same game with updated graphics. He said it was a fantastic game. just a lot of recycled content. No hate there.

7.5 geez the scores are as weak as PS3 first gen games. Where is F-Zero for the 3ds!

Looks great. Will probably get it when I get a Vita.

@schmam123 He said controls are good, just not if you use the optional motion controls. Again, you are not made to use them.
