Different than a typical RPG play-style so it's not for everyone, but for those who can appreciate it, it's a good step.

User Rating: 7.5 | Winter Voices Prologue: Avalanche PC
First off, go to Steam and check out the video, don't know why GS doesn't have the video on-site. View the video by this link http://store.steampowered.com/app/72900/ Now Winter Voices is going to be released in installments so there won't be a full review on it for a while, but I had to put some form of information on the game's page to help people be aware of it, GS has practically nothing on it, for your information, go to Steam and check it out (available on both PC/MAC). There's a dev that even hangs out answering questions in the Winter Voices Steam forum -about any bugs and helping with it and storyline questions, and I h have to say so far, the game is running smoothly. That's invaluable. The first 2 of 7 installments has been released at $4.99 each.

The story takes place in a snowy valley, there's a sudden death that your character directly has to face, she ends up gaining along the course of the game sensory capabilities, and there's a skill tree, much like in The Witcher where you choose which abilities you want for your character when you level up. You battle the negativity that the death caused, these ghosts talk to you and try to confuse you and attack you (trying to put this vaguely to not spoil it, sorry if it's sounding weird!).

This is a very unique rpg style, but it's worth a shot for the rpg-lovers like myself. Go over to Steam and read up on it, & watch the video, it's been hard for me to try to tell vaguely. It's a single player rpg experience, it has Steam achievements, it's got an active community in the Steam forums and like I said, there's a Winter Voices dev in there helping out with tech/storyline questions. The game comes in 2 languages, English and French, runs OS: XP, Vista, 7- Processor: Intel Pentium 4, 3GHz/ AMD Athlon 64 3000+, Memory: 1 GB (2 GB for Vista), Graphics: 128 MB, DirectX: DirectX 9.0c, Hard Drive: 500MB, Sound: DirectX 9.0c.

I run it smoothly with Vista 32bit, 2x nVidia GTX280, nVidia nForce 790iUltra SLI, Intel Extreme Processor (quad) QX 9770 (@3.8GHz), SoundBlaster X-Fi HD audio on a 24" 1920x1080 flat panel, but it doesn't support full HD up to my resolution, but it still looks nice so I am o.k. with it ;)

Now, head on over to Steam, check it out! I'll try to do a real, full review when all 7 episodes have been released. (So far the first 2 have been "Avalanche" and "Those Who Have No Name"-now "Nowhere of Me" has been released as well).
