Me and my friends were all about Fifa. Then one of my friends said to the rest of us : "What is it you guys still see in Fifa? Once you've played PES6, you'll never go back to Fifa ever again!" Boy, was he wrong...

I bought it, on his advice. And I wish I never did. Well, sometimes I do. Sometimes I don't. I don't agree with the people who say that PES' gameplay is better than Fifa's. The reason why I sometimes don't wish I had spent my money otherwise isn't because of the gameplay. It's because of the huge customization options.

The ability to create a club, and a player, are much better than those in Fifa. The detailed creation of the kit, the supporter colours and their flags, the logo, the very sound your supporters make, it's all so overwhelming when you see it at first, and if you've got a thing for creating custom stuff like I do. And then there's also the option to create your own shoes. In my case, I made myself some custom Nike Vapors. Who could ask for more?

But once I really started playing, the game let me down. Scoring was way too easy, if I made a sliding my player would slide across half the pitch (okay, so I'm exaggerating). The speed of the players was way off too. And don't even start about graphics. Let's take, for instance, the Amsterdam ArenA. I'm Dutch so that one is the closest example for me. First of all it's named the Orange ArenA, due to a lack of licenses again. But compare the Fifa version to the PES version. There's no way anyone could say the PES version looks better.

The Master League option is a nice change to Fifa's Coach mode though. The fact of starting with nothing and building a team once again appeals to me. But in short, if you want to play footy with a sense of originality, go with Fifa. If wou want to customize pretty much everything involved with footy (except for a ball), go with PES. And even though I've got a thing for creating things, the main subject is still playing football, and in my opinion you're better of with Fifa on that aspect.
