This was my first ps2 game, I got it before I knew about reviews..gamespot, ign and all that stuff.... I was living in haiti so I could only get 1 game every big holiday(summer, christmas) i had this game during the first summer of the ps2.(2001 i think) i played it a lot, but never beat it... then I finally got a memory card for christmas (and gran turismo 3) then the real fun started...winback replaced what mortal kombat and street fighter and tekken 2 were in their times... there used to be around 30 kids waiting in line to play the multiplayer which I still think is one of the best ever concieved..... i even liked it better than gears of war... which i've been playing for a month now. I remember getting metal gear solid 2 and still prefering winback over it... i've played this game for a solid 3 years... but my ps2 had that lens problem and did not play blue disk anymore not too long ago a went and checked review for my favorite game(with contra) on some website only to find out that... it was considered one of the worst game of all time.... I was dissapointed... I enjoyed this much more than many games with ratings above 9.5
