MUST HAVE if you like SRPG

First I was a bit skeptical about Wild ARMs going to SRPG. But wow, I didn't think I'll finally come across a challenging true SRPG that have more mission objectives than "Kill all enemy" or "get to this place" in this game.

The game consists of 30+ characters and each mission objectives challenges you to use the best team to solve the mission. I tend to think of it more like a puzzle. I love the fact that Labyrinthia gives you a heads up on what the battle / mission is about (DER) and her DER when she's shocked was pretty funny. I thought that was a really nice touch.

The hex grid system is very innovative as well. Unlike the regular square grid you have 6 sides which makes it more challenging to attack or defend. You can also gang up on a enemy with some massive formation team attack by surrounding them and when you get to the point that your team can use Combination arts attack? man forgettabout it. He's/she's toast. Just make sure to keep an eye on the attack order cause if that enemies turn comes up it's all for nothing.

But all the fancy things aside I really like the fact that you really need to be aware of the field and what's going on. You have to consider the mission objective, check the layout of the tactical map, type of enemies, select the right job class and weapons, hight, HEX effect, lay points and objects on the field and really strategies your move. In some mission it's a trial and error but it's sorta like chess and the feeling you get when you do beat that mission is so great you wanna scream "HA HA! SUCKERS!!"

Plus the story is great. It's really deep and towards the end you understand why everyone, including the enemies are doing what they are for what they think is right.

The only thing negative about this game is that it definitely takes a little to get used to, but if you're looking for a challenge and like SRPG I highly recommend this game. I had a blast.
