The Bigs 2: Mo-Cap With the Prince

Yesterday, I got the chance to head up to 2K Sports' motion capture facility in Novato, CA to get a look at 2K's upcoming arcade baseball game, The Bigs 2 and spend some time with cover star Prince Fielder, first basemen with the Milwaukee Brewers and one of the new breed of power hitters in Major League Baseball. Fielder is the son of former Detroit Tigers' player Cecil Fielder and the similarities between the two are unmistakable. Both are big, friendly guys, both can yank a ball a million miles, and both have staked their claim to greatness in the big leagues.

Accompanying Prince to the mo-cap session was an entourage of folks including his wife and two children, his agent, and two of his Brewers' teammates: outfielder Mike Cameron and reliever Seth McClung, both of whom were keen to check out The Bigs 2 and get in on the mo-cap action. Here's some pictures from the event:

You never know who will be called in for mo-cap, so the 2K crew makes sure lots of shoes sizes are available.

The crew arrives in force and in style.

Fielder checks out a Bigs 2 demo from 2K Sports producer Rob Nelson while the Brewers' Mike Cameron looks on.

Mike Cameron couldn't wait to get into the mo-cap gear.

Reliever Seth McClung once got two hits off of Randy Johnson in a single game. He shows his form here.

Fielder chats with a blurry 2K Sports producer Jonathan Rivera about what they want to capture.

Fielder's son got in on the mo-cap action too. Could we see a third Fielder in the big leagues one day?

Getting out of the suit, with the help of 2K Sports' mo-cap crew.

We'll have more on The Bigs 2 in the very near future, including an interview with Fielder. Until then, check out the latest Bigs 2 trailer below:

The Bigs was a horrible game, why on earth would they waste money and time on this? Then need to work on that awful 2K9 Baseball game and stop wasting their time on this.

The Bigs was not a good game and mlb2k9 was the worst baseball game i ever played and mlb2k10 better be a good and realistic game like mlb09 the show.

i thought the bigs was fun to play against people because it didn't take as long to play the games.........playing an actual game in a game like mlb 2k9 or the show gets boring after like the 5th inning
