May and its hard-hitting release schedule has come and gone, passing the torch to headshots, power chords, golf clubs, and a Blue Bomber to usher in the first full week of June. With the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo and the official start of summer right around the corner, gamers looking to relax have a number of options this week.

One of the most anticipated releases this week is Harmonix and MTV Games' next band-specific music-game installment, Green Day: Rock Band. Following up The Beatles: Rock Band from September 2009, this pop-punk-themed rhythm game arrives June 8 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. The game has 47 tracks on disc and features locations from the band's storied career, including intimate club venues and large concert halls.

For wargamers looking for more Call of Duty beyond last week's Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Map Pack, Activision releases Call of Duty: The War Collection also on June 8. The three-game compilation includes the Xbox 360 launch title Call of Duty 2, the 2006 follow-up Call of Duty 3, and the franchise's most recent WWII shooter, Call of Duty: World at War, all for $59.99.

Portable gamers also have a lot to look forward to this week as two established franchises release new titles. The Mega Man Zero Collection--a combination of the four Game Boy Advance Mega Man Zero games--arrives June 8 next to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Konami and Hideo Kojima's long-awaited PSP title available on the same day.

And for sporting fans, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 hits shelves this week. For the first time, Woods won't be the only golfer adorning the game's cover. Joining Woods on the box will be Northern Ireland's 21-year-old standout Rory McIlroy, effectively marking EA Sports' decision to include Ryder Cup play in the newest game. Additionally, the 2011 simulator will make use of Sony's motion-control technology, PlayStation Move, once the controller launches later this year.

Other notable titles debuting this week include Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands for the PC, Disgaea Infinite for the PSP, and the headshot-happy Sniper: Ghost Warrior on the PC and Xbox 360.
