    don't bring up mario rpg because mario should never be in an rpg game. same with sonic whitch is why secret rings and black knight should not of had the leveling up system. i am also not saying that all zelda games are about rescuing zelda, example:wind waker, but they are all about saving someone. to answer your last question, isn't every smash bros. game a nintendo game? there are nintendo charecters missing? is it still considered a nintendo game? they don't have ballon guy, pacman, the dig-dug guy, or shadow in there? yet it is still a nintendo game?

    (sorry for the late responce i havent been active on gamespot.com for a while) but not all mario games rescue peach. like Super Mario RGP legend of the 7 stars had nothing to do with rescuing peach. Saying that all mario games just rescue peach is like saying all Legend of Zelda games just rescue zelda. Btw how is Mario Kart Wii a "Nintendo Game"? If it was wouldnt it have kirby or link in it?

    Your previous post was nothing about opinion. Not once did you express a thought like "I like this because..." You made wrong statements, such as "there is no difference in any Mario game" which is pure drivel. And sorry, but my comment of any 2D/3D Mario beating any 2D/3D Sonic respectively is fact, not opinion. Notice how I said commercial fact, as in sales. If you don't like Mario and prefer Sonic that's fine, THAT is opinion. Just don't be making false statements about "fact" that nothing in Mario ever changes as your opinion. That's like saying that it's your opinion that the sun isn't hot; it's BS.

    I won't argue anymore other then "2D Mario has always beaten 2D Sonic" and "any 3D Mario has surpassed any 3D Sonic" are not facts. They are your opinion. Just as everything I said in my last comment is an opinion.

    Your point? The story remains similar in one incarnation or another, but the gameplay has always been switched up and varied. As in Super Mario Galaxy. "Wacky gravity and a new chick." Tad bit more to the mechanics than that. It's like comparing Super Mario 64 to Super Mario Bros. 3. Now, to compare Sonic and our plumber friend is to compare a $10 bill next to a $20 bill.If you could have both, great. But if you could only pick one...it's a no brainer. 2D Mario has always beaten 2D Sonic (disagree as much as you want, it's commercial fact) just as any 3D Mario has surpassed any 3D Sonic (disagree as much as you want, it's commercial fact) Now, why is that? Are people fed up of the 'save the princess' motife that Mario made famous? Survey says: No. It's what made Mario and Zelda games timeless, and successful regardless of "not doing anything new", which Nintendo has. And Mario Kart and Mario Party ARE Mario games...you see Link anywhere in there? Samus? No, all characters of the Mario universe. And yes, Donkey Kong is technically a part of the Mario universe, Diddy was added because of association to DK. Same thing with Mario Party; it involves characters in the Mario universe. Hence it is a Mario game. Super Smash Bros., however, is a Nintendo game. See the variances?

    Mario is over-rated. People that like Mario and are over 13 and aren't chicks deserve to be shot.

    Mario Kart isn't really a mario game as it is more of a nintendo game. Super Mario is a side scrolling game just like what you said about sonic. Paper Mario is always the same. Go through different worlds/lands/dimensions to get the princess back and for revenge. Mario Party is the only good series of Mario since it's fun and it is more then just save princess peach and defeat bowser. There is absolutely no difference in any mario game. And also, mario party and mario kart are not mario games, just because they have "mario" in the name dosen't make them mario games. Also, sonic has great music with each generation he passes. His story does change through time and he dosen't stick through the same plot through the whole game. Example is Sonic Heroes, Sonic Pinball, and Dr. Robotnicks mean bean machine.

    actually I own super mario galaxy. the only difference is the wacky gravity and the girl he meets. Other then that, it's just another super mario bros for the super nintendo. (even though super mario galaxy is for wii) but you get the point. mario does nothing new. He still saves princess peach and he still fights bowser.

    Sonic lost to Mario for many reasons. 1 Sonics story is pretty much a like for the whole game. Just go throught levels. Mario is more then what you said. It's split in parts. Examples: Mario Kart, Super Mario, Paper Mario, and Mario Party

    lolwut? Hasn't done anything new in years? Clearly you didn't play Super Mario Galaxy...

    Not to mention that almost all of his spinoffs have been very successful, whereas Sonic's haven't...I got love for the Hedgehog, but Sonic and Sega lost to the italian plumber years ago.

    Kinda weak if you ask me, it only showed 3 of his many games, they should have included super mario64 that is his game that first entered him into the 3D world.

    How the heck did Mario win? He hasn't done anything new in years. All of his stories are the same. Sonic should have won cause he has done more then try and rescue the same girl over and over again every game and their are more bosses in every sonic game other then dr. eggman. Mario just fights bowser and the koopa kids every game. Nintendo needs to update Mario before they come out with a new game for him.

    @Lindsay123456 - I would recomend Brawl,Galaxy,MKW,Super Mario Strikers Charged,Mario Party 8,and all of the VC games,and some more Mario Wii games featuring Mario if you want Mario.

    Listen Mario is the father of Nintendo or didn't anyone know. If Mario took out all his shares and profits and left, the company would fall apart instantly they know it. So when ever they try to get out of line with him he reminds them that he is the owner and not the other way around.
