TGS '07: Koei founds show-floor Dynasty

TOKYO--It's a testament to the popularity of Koei's long-running Dynasty Warriors series that the upcoming Dynasty Warriors 6 (known as Shin Sangokumusou 5 here in Japan) was one of the most trafficked games on the first public day of the 2007 Tokyo Game Show. The game was playable here for the first time on both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, though it probably wasn't surprising that the PS3 version of the game was getting far more interest from the Japanese fans.

The two-level Koei booth was home to a host of game fans playing titles ranging from DS fare such as the cute Gabu Gabu Planet to the more serious action/tactics game Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War. The lower level of the booth also featured two Wii games: the family-friendly RPG Opoona, the combat-heavy Samurai Warriors: Katana, and the horse racing game, GI Jockey 4 2007. The upper level of the booth featured a number of the PC-only online Koei adventures games, including Dynasty Warriors BB.

    The Dynasty Warriors 6 is not so bad... Why haven't they made any review for the 360 version yet? And it's coming for the PC too, not any news????

    I’m approaching this one with a certain caution I mean I liked the other games but it was really just the same thing. Still Can’t wait to go co-op with this and double team lu bu off of a castle wall watch him smack the ground and dive down after him

    Ugh, I hate Dynasty Warriors. I used to like it as a kid but its still the same damn game. I read the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and I gotta tell yah, DW can't capture the essence of the story well.

    Im Realy Looking Forward to try this game. I got PS3 now!. yay!. xD. Im very curious on the new combat system, will also be fun to swim across rivers and climb etc. I also Love the Whole DW universe u might say. And its good that they make games like this to remeber the history, the heros that has been forgotten. specialy for the younger crowd. I keep hearing Youth know nothing of history or care about it, this proves them wrong. And hey i playd most Dw games with my 62year old father. he loves it.xD

    This is the best Dynasty Warriors out yet, can't wait to see what they do with Samurai Warriors 3, ashame there are no new characters and 7 of them have been deleted, but the new game system will keep this game allive

    Cool, DW6 looks beter than ever. I like how the combos last for a long time allowing you to really rack up hits. SW on Wii sounds interesting.
    I def want to try that out as well.

    all the stupid people who are saying that Dynasty Warriors is dumb and that it sucks and that they hope it is the last one. shut the hell up.. we dont wanna hear your gay opinion. if you dont like shut your mouth and go somewhere else. by the way Dynasty Warriors is a great game i love the series and Romance of the three kingdoms is good to so yeah i hope that this realease comes quick for 360 baby ♠

    I love the whole story of the Three Kingdoms and I love the DW series. It's funny that the game should be repetitive to me and old but it has never been either one of those for years since DW 3. At least they are making the much needed graphical and gameplay changes that the fans have been waiting for.

    Can't wait to play this, I hope NA doesn't have to wait 6 months after the Japanese release to get it.

    @gkclassof2005:

    The Dynasty Warriors franchise is as popular in Japan as Halo is in America, therefore we should expect future iterations/spin-offs to show up here and there.

    well, I personally liked the Whichever Warriors games, but I think I reached my limit; they're on their own now

    NO MORE DYNASTY WARRIORS...goodness...how long can they milk the franchise...who is still funding them?..who is still buying the game? lol...man..i havent played DW since DW2
